I’ve been tasked with facilitating the discussion for this future event.  There are two questions that need to be answered at this point – when and where.

When – do we hold it in 2013, thus giving us our, oh so applicable, odd year?  I hiked with a friend who says they do their family reunion every third year – far enough apart that no one wants to miss it but not so far as to miss all the growth of the little ones.  He noted that when they tried to meet every other year people were more likely to skip it (guarding jealously their vacation time) – making it four years before you saw them again.  Unless, of course, you skipped the next one – making it eight years.  Get it?  It may be hard to believe but I actually enjoy seeing all you.  So I’m okay with trying for next summer – which would maintain the two year interval.  But then maybe a three year is smarter.  Your input is necessary to the process. 

Location – clearly this affects each one’s ability to attend.  If you all had the good sense to live in the great northwest then it would be easy to get together.  But, alas, not everyone has such crystalline vision.  Suggestions have been to have this next one in Colorado.  Middle of the country – not bad.  We do have the capacity to host it in Westport but that is nearly the end of the world – and in the NW again.  (Plus we’d need to reserve hotel rooms at least a few  months in advance as there are only so many rooms here.)  Feel free to nominate your own town or whatever location you think.
